This lecture course examines the Interior Architectural Design profession, industry, related occupations and work sites. The course emphasizes personal, educational, and professional qualifications required for entry into the Interior Architectural Design profession.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Identify education, skills and personal qualifications for entry into the Interior Design Profession.
- Differentiate work sites related to the Interior Design Profession.
- Interview Interior Design professionals, and complete written and oral reports on these interviews.
- Examine legal career requirements for becoming a professional interior designer.
- Discuss and define vocabulary terms pertaining to interior design.
- Identify the major professional design associations and the benefits of membership in these professional associations.
- Conduct an on-line search of interior design and related professions and report on these findings.
- Identify professional and educational goals and strategies for achieving those goals.
- Produce a student resume and student business card.
- Examine and practice the job interview process.
