This advanced drafting course demonstrates methods and techniques used in the development of architectural construction documents for residential and commercial structures. Construction theory and practice from site selection to completion are included.

- Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to use various AutoCAD drawing techniques found in professional design offices
- Understand the function and use of Construction Documents as legal documents
- Understand basic building and safety and ADA codes and requirements
- Complete a set of working drawings for a small institutional building
- Understand how floor plans, elevations and sections relate to each other and understand the basic symbols and details associated with these drawings

The student will:
- Students will analyze a set of CAD working drawings and present a report on the ways that working drawings function in the design process and are impacted by issues of coordination, codes, public safety, as well as the role they play in the contractual relationship between owners, designers, and contractors.
- Students will complete a set of CAD working drawings for a small institutional building that demonstrate coordination between plan, section and elevation, and that evidence clear and professional CAD database structures and annotation strategies.
